Jessica's naughty pet story

Meg’s first ice cream
One day 9 years ago, I was having my first ever ice cream. Yum chocolate, my favourite flavour. It was at my beach house in Whitianga.

When I had my first ever ice cream my parents were videoing it. I was eating my ice cream minding my own business when I showed my dog a yellow labrador named Meg my ice cream and guess what? She ate it.

I started crying. My Mum took me and comforted me. After that Meg looked very  pleased with chocolate ice cream all over her face, I definitely wasn't.

Then 7 years later I watched the video on my birthday party with my friends. We all started laughing really hard because it was so funny. I might put it on youtube.

G.S.S Goes To The Netball Tournament

G.S.S Goes To The      Netball Tournament.
On Thursday the 31st of July, all those who go to Windmill park on Wednesday to play netball, went to the AMI netball stadium and participated in the netball tournament. My team, Year 6 Ruby, had a bye first and then we got into action. We lost the first game but then we won every other game we had. We lost a team member, which was Talia Jeffery because of a hand injury. We got another team member, Laura Mooney and she was just as good as Talia. Eleanor Clark’s team, Year 6 Green, won the first 3 games, lost the 4th game and won the last 2 games. Chloe Simpson’s team, Year 5 Lime, won all their games and they won their section. Amy Petau-Ah Poe’s team, Year 5 Blue, won their 1st game and lost the rest of their games. The coach for my team is Lynne Tofilau and our manager is Liz Trainor. Eleanor’s team coach is Aaron Clark and their manager is Elizabeth Molony. Chloe’s team coach is Fran Simpson and she is also their manager. Amy’s coach is Irene Petau and Emma Smoldon is their manager.

Ki O Rahi Tournament

To end Matariki we had our Ki O Rahi tournament.  Four Teams faced off in a round robin tournament with the two finalists being the teams with the most accrued points.

Team Red; Talia, Ashleigh, Nikita, Patrick, Te Aute and Vaea played Team Blue; Hugo, Mrdina, Ethan, Jess, Fergus, Jeremiah and Alison in a hard fought and exctiting final.

At the end of full time the scores were tied at 2 all.

We played an extra minute each way to come up with a winner, in the last 30 seconds Team Blue scored the deciding point. Team Red were gracious in defeat and played a great game.

Gymsports Competition

Gymnastics

Ten children, Talia J, Hugo M, Jessica Mc, Ella L, Amie H, Leilani F, Alice B, Luca L P, Natalie S and Josie G went to Tristar gymnasium to compete on three apparatus; vault , beam and floor. Hugo did two floors, since he is a boy he does not do beam.  We all had to compete against many schools and try to earn ribbons. Gold is the best you can get and is excellent, red is the second best and is very good, blue is good and green is merit. Amie and Ella also competed in trampolining and both got gold’s. Everybody had great fun just being there and we would like to thank all the parents that helped. We could not have done it without you. We would also like to thanks Mrs Stennard for organising it and Tristar for doing it.
