On the 15th of August 2014 Room 7 had their
assembly, our main focus was to inspire our audience with our mihi and to talk
about global warming effects on Antarctica’s animals but especially our fluffy
friends the Emperor Penguin.
We performed a dance about staying alive and we were trying
to reach out to the audience and tried to get them involved in as many ways as
possible, our class also spent lots of time crafting origami beaks to use for
the dance to make it more amusing. We also gave many example of how global
warming is destroying habitats and killing animals.
At the beginning of our assembly we performed a Māori song
that was about Māori language vowels because our old student teacher Mrs Villiamu
had a thing about music and how it can affect our daily lives, so we were
inspired to use her style of music and perform a song that her, and our awesome
teacher Mrs Stennard taught us.
At the end of our fabulous assembly the netball certificates
were handed out and our school was very proud to have one first place team, two
second place teams and a fourth place team.
